One affected candidate, identified simply as Chinedu, recently shared his experience online, highlighting the challenges he faced while trying to resolve the issue at his Computer-Based Test (CBT) registration center. Chinedu explained that after completing his 2025 UTME registration, he attempted to log in to his JAMB profile but noticed that only his 2024 details were visible. This specific issue had previously been addressed by JAMB on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, where the board clarified that candidates who reused the same phone numbers and email addresses from previous years might still see their older profiles when logging in.
In search of a solution, Chinedu decided to visit the CBT center where he registered, hoping for professional assistance. However, his visit turned out to be disappointing. According to Chinedu, the center staff charged him ₦500 for help but ultimately provided no real solution to his problem.

His story is far from unique. Many other candidates have echoed similar frustrations, sharing their anxieties about being unable to confirm their 2025 registration status online. The widespread concern has sparked debates on social media, with candidates and parents alike questioning the efficiency of both JAMB and the CBT centers tasked with supporting candidates through the registration process.
In response to these concerns, JAMB has reassured the public that the issue is temporary and should not cause panic. The board explained that the 2025 UTME platform has not yet been fully activated for candidate viewing, which is why many profiles still display information from the 2024 session.

JAMB emphasized that candidates do not need to take any further action at this time and strongly advised them against making unnecessary payments at CBT centers for issues that will resolve automatically once the system update is complete.
“Candidates should exercise patience. The 2025 UTME platform will be fully visible soon, and everyone will be able to access their latest registration details, including exam dates, venues, and other essential information,” JAMB stated.
This reassurance has brought some relief, but candidates are still urged to remain vigilant and rely solely on official JAMB communication channels for updates. The board also reminded candidates to be wary of unscrupulous individuals who might exploit the current confusion to extort money from unsuspecting students.
